You pay less in social contributions during the first 600 hours of your holiday job. You are therefore
not entitled to holiday and holiday pay. A student chooses when he/she works, so whether or not he
wants to work on a public holiday, that is his/her own choice. Sometimes public holidays are paid
extra, but this depends on the employer.
